meet the coaches

Our coaching staff is made up of experienced athletes and dedicated mentors who are passionate about helping young players grow. With backgrounds in collegiate and competitive baseball and softball, our coaches bring years of knowledge, hands-on training, and a love for the game to every session.

We focus not just on skill development, but on building confidence, resilience, and a strong work ethic—lessons that go beyond the field. Whether it's hitting, pitching, fielding, or speed & agility training, our team is here to guide and support every athlete in reaching their full potential.

My name is Gracie Janney. I am married to my high school sweetheart Dylan. We have four wonderful babies Lenny, Emmy Lou, JD, and Dottie. I was born and raised in Ranburne. I graduated from RHS in 2011 where I played softball, basketball and volleyball. My softball career then extended to Shorter University. During my college career we were runner up in the national championship in 2013 and national champions in 2012 and 2014. I played shortstop and catcher as needed in high school. I then transitioned to a third basemen in college. I have experience hitting right handed and slapping.

Softball allowed me to have a full ride to Shorter to begin my RN degree. I am now a nurse practitioner with 3:16 family medicine.

Jeremiah 29:11 has always been my favorite verse. I truly believe that hard work and determination helped me become the person I am today. God’s plan was for me to prosper, and I know without his guidance I wouldn’t be where I am today.

My oldest daughters are beginning their journey as well and it is such a joy to be able to experience it with them. I believe that team sports allow young athletes to develop confidence and learn the importance of being a supportive team player.

I am excited to share my experience and knowledge. I hope to show young girls that hard work will only improve the plan God has for them!

Hi, I’m Jon Hall from Ranburne, AL. I’m blessed to be married to Sabrina Hall, and together we’re raising three amazing kids: Greyson, Hudson, and Sophie. During high school, I had the honor of being named to the All-State team in both 1999 and 2000 and was part of the 1999 state runner-up team. In 2000, I was selected to the East-West and North-South All-Star teams and was recognized by Collegiate Baseball News as a Blue Chip Prospect.

In the summers, I played with the Tallahassee Baseball Club for Coach Zimmerman and competed in the AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL, which was an incredible experience.

After high school, I continued my baseball journey at Talladega College, where I led the freshmen class in our conference in home runs. I then transferred to Tallahassee Community College to play under Coach Mike McLeod.

Unfortunately, my playing career was sidelined due to Tommy John and labrum surgeries, but that’s where my passion for coaching and instructing was born.

Now, I’m dedicated to helping others develop a warrior mentality—teaching them to face challenges head-on, stay confident, and push through any obstacle in their path. Sports gives me the opportunity to shape young athletes into strong individuals, both on and off the field.

My name is Samantha (Sam) Long. I am married to Zach Long. We have two amazing children Jake(5) and Lucas(1). I am from Ranburne. I graduated from RHS in 2008. Ranburne is where my softball career began. In high school, I was a pitcher and shortstop. After high school, I continued my career as a pitcher at Gordon College for one year. Then, I transferred to JSU where I pitched for 3 years. I graduated from JSU with a Physical Education degree. I now teach PE at Ranburne where I also coached softball for 11 years.

God blessed me throughout my career and still is to this day. His guidance has helped build me into the person I am today. I hope to use my knowledge and help guide these girls in the direction God has laid out for them.

Softball pitching lessons needed? Look no further.

  • Facility Owner & Coach

My name is Cole Gibbs. I am a 2006 graduate of Ranburne High School where I played football, basketball, and baseball. After high school I continued my baseball career at Southern Union State Community College where I played under the legendary coach Joe “Jabo” Jordan. During my time at SUSCC I played outfield and first base while also working on the mound as a depth pitcher. Following my 2 years at SUSCC I transferred to the University of West Georgia. There I focused solely on pitching. During my playing days we won the 2006 2A State Championship in baseball, my freshmen of college we were JUCO state runner up.

Sports has always been a passion of mine and although life took me a different direction, sports has still been a huge part of what made me who I am. Opening a training facility has always been a dream of mine and now that my 2 children, Laney and Luke,  are involved in sports I felt the time was right to follow that dream.

We will strive to give each the kid the foundation to become the very best version of themselves through the work they put in at our facility. In closing, I believe Legacy Sports Training will be something really special and we want your kid to come be a part of it.
